Queenstown Recon Trip

"Have you seen my hat? Its a De Bono one"
All good Special Op’s require a little recon so we headed to Queenstown to catch up with everyone, talk shop, and then catch up with the crew from Red Bull Australia. Due to some fog we made an unplanned stop in Christchurch so we headed to the Deflux office to catch with Simon and his crew, then after more or less a whole day finally made it to QT. We saw all the Homies. Matt and the crew at ALTA (Check out http://www.alta.co.nz for links to their new skate and snowboard websites).
Then off to Moto Grill to see Mr Greg Timms. We bumped into JC from Park Life ( http://www.nzski.com/parklife ). Then it was off to skate the new park, yes, its so good (click the more pics link for more shots).
They were still working on it but there is already so much fun stuff to skate. Later on we caught up with Red Bull Rider Jake Koia (a.k.a. “Koia the Destroyer”!) and had a few Vodka Red Bull’s. Jake is working on a little project for later this winter, stay tuned. Next day we caught up with Queenstown legend and Red Bull Athlete Chuck Berry. We have some stuff lined up with Chuck for later in the winter too, Chuck is on the all time hero’s list here at Special Op’s!
All and all it was great to be back at Red Bull Base Camp, great to be in Queenstown and we look forward to getting back there when the snow comes.
Oh yeah, if you see my De Bono hat anywhere send me an email, it was a yellow one, or was it blue?
